USs Kitty Hawk takes final voyage

the U.S.’s oldest ship, the USS Kitty Hawk took its final voyage from japan on wednesday. it will be decommissioned after over 50 years of service. the ship pulled away from its port at the south of tokyo to the cheers of hundreds of thousands of people. its the last aircraft carrier in the navy. it will be replaced laster this summer with the USS George Washington.

texas poliygamist families could flee

members of a texas polygamist colony could flee state if the lower court ruling stands. if they do flee they will be out of the courts jurisdiction and they will be given they’re kids back. the case involves 38 mothers and 124 children. on friday the court released 12 children to their parents.

Acidic water threatens marine life

an increase in corrosive water is now threatening west coast marine life from the bottom of the food chain up to the top. the acidic water is appearing earlier than expected. it does not threaten humans. the water has been moving closer to shallow water which is where most of the fish are.

Sgt. electrocuted in shower

Staff Sgt. Ryan Maseth died in his bathroom on Jan. 2nd. the water pump wasnt put in right and when he turned on the shower there was a serge of electricity.  His mother was informed and could not believe what had happened to her son.  Since the start of the war 12 U.S. soldiers have been electrocuted in Iraq.

China earthquake

A deadly earthquake struck china on May 12, 2008. It is now May 22 and over 50,000 are reported dead. “confirmed dead was 51,151, more than 10,000 higher than yesterday’s toll. A further 29,328 people were missing and nearly 300,000 injured” said Guo Weimin, a cabinet spokesman.
